Question
I have a bottle of 1974 Liebfraumilch Rheinhessen, imported by Estrada's in Galveston, Texas, 1 bottle of 1988 Liebfraumilch Blue Nun and a bottle of 2005 Cuvee Reserve Chateauneuf du Pape.  I would so appreciate your help of knowing the value of any or all of these wines.  Thank you so much.

Answer
Hi Barbara

The two German wines were never intended to age this long---they are both well past their prime, and wouldn't have any value on the market.  So that's not good news.

The 2005 Chateauneuf du Pape should be quite nice--that was a great year--but you don't provide the name of the producer.  These are selling at about $35-60 depending on the producer.  It should continue to improve with age for a few years, but is pretty darn good right now.

hope that helps!

Domaine Pegau is a top producer!  I would put the value over $50, and keep it around for a couple more years, at the least!
