Question
I received as a gift a bottle of Bollinger R.D. 1979
Extra Brut Champagne. It is in the original wood box and has been stored in my basement until now - is it worth anything as I am not a champagne drinker.

Answer
Hi Wes

This is lovely stuff, and if it has never got too warm it should be in good condition.  I think a bottle of this would sell for well over $200, maybe over $300--but it is illegal for private individuals to sell alcoholic beverages in the USA.  You'll have tow work through a retailer or auction house,  and they will take a nice commission off the sale.

You could also try trading it to a local retailer who would give you something more to your taste in return,

Hope that helps
