Beverages/Wine Values

QuestionWondering the value of first vintage 1991 Cab and Merlot of Paul Hobbs? I have verticals of these through 1995 as well, both Hyde and Liparita.
AnswerHi Ken
I haven't seen these come up at auction, so I can't really answer definitively--but in most cases, these wines don't seem to appreciate in value as quickly as you might expect. From what I have seen, they are now selling for something like 20-35% above the release price, but not much more than that.
And bear in mind that the wine auction market right now is really instable. I don't know anyone who can predict values very well, simply because the economy is so volatile.
On the other hand, these wines are showing very well right now, and I don't think they should be kept for another ten years. I'd open them up over the next few years and enjoy them.
