Question
I have an un-opened bottle of 1973 Beameister Bernkasteler Riesling, 680 mil blue bottle in very good condition. Do you think this would be worth anything. It was given to my late brother for his 21st birthday.
Many thanks in advance

Answer
HI Sue

This was a pleasant wine when it was released, with notes of green apple in the nose, and a refreshing balance between sweetness and acidity.  But this was never a wine to be aged for 40 years.  It is now almost certainly well over the hill, with tired fruit and a browning color.  It won't have much value on the auction market, although I have seen those beautiful bottles for sale for about $10--when empty!

I am sorry that I don't have better news for you.
