my gran use to make this up for me and my to sisters i would like for my kids and granchildren to try it and it was good for the cold

Hi Hilary

I don'tknowhow your gran used to mske this...but there are a lot of recipes.  They usually start with some rather neutral white wine, and then a lot of ginger--the best is to use fresh ginger, and soak it in the wine for a couple of weeks.  Add sugar to taste, and you should be ready to go.  

But you can make it quicker if you cook the ginger in the wine---the wine loses alcohol, but also picks up the ginger flavor quicker.  Then sweeten to your taste and drink up !
