Question

bottom of the bottle
i have an old bottle of Seagram's 7 in its red cardboard box with acorns and Holies and bells looks like it would have been for x-mass but it has a pink bureau of a t f spirts tax seal that has no damage to it or the bottle or the box. on the bottom of the bottle these markings an underlined 42, an anchor in a box, E-25B7E, 9  D-126  80 and a 6 under it. i do know the bottles where bought by my late great uncle who would have bought them before or after Korea and we have a few other bottles that where left in a box in his closet thank

Answer
HI Michael

DIstilled spirits like this are so high in alcohol that they don't really change much over time.  THe good news is that this bottle is almost certainly good to drink.  The bad news is that it won't have appreciated in value the way some fine wines do.  I would estimate this one at about $35--a bit more than a current bottling, but not much.

The bottle itself may be worth more than the liquid inside.  You'll have to check with the guys at antiquebottles.com to see if this bottle is truly collectible at that level.

Sorry that I can't give you more exciting news.
