Beverages/An old bacardi bottle of rum

Question
Paul I have a tall Bacardi bottle of rum, it has 1873 on the front. How can I verify the exact year when it was bottled.
The bottle is still full, it has a lead cover on top with the Bacardi word engrave in it.

Answer
HI Neftali

This is a solera product, which means that the original blend was started in 1873, and each year some is bottled, and fresh rum added to what is left.  Bacardi actually says that the average age in the solera is only three years, so it really isn't that old after all.  The retail price in the USA is between $15 and $20...

Sorry I can't give you more exciting news.
