Beverages/noirot liquor flavoring extracts

Question
Hi Paul, I have a considerable quantity (and assortment of flavors) of Noirot liquor flavoring extracts.  All are in factory sealed little brown glass bottles (vials almost)and still in their little boxes.  They have been kept at or near 19C - 24C unopened and out of the light since they were purchased sometime between 1985 and 1989.  The bottles look like the day they were new.  There is no visual sign of seal damage or change in fluid viscosity or other visual characteristics.  Are they still safe to use?

Additionally, I see numerous references to Noirot extracts but can find no link, web site or contact information for Noirot in France.  Can you advise on their status?

Thank you for your time and consideration!  Warm regards, Ken

Answer
Hi Ken

These are a bit problematic.  They are relatively high in alcohol, so they won't hurt you, but they do tend to lose freshness over time--somewhat like perfume.  I think the only way to see which ones are still good is to open them up and try them.

So yes, they are safe to use, but I can't vouch for their freshness.

And here is website for their operations in Canada...maybe that will help!
