Question
I have several 1.75 liter bottles of 7 Crown that are more than 10 years old. These bottles are plastic and have a triangle mark with a 1 in the middle on the bottom of the bottle. It also says PETE under the mark.
I heard this plastic is not safe and can cause cancer or ?
Is this Whiskey safe to drink or will Seagrams replace these for me with glass bottles ?

Answer
Hi Peter

I can't really speak for what Seagram might do in this case.  I think you are right that some of these bottles have been shown to leach chemicals into their beverage contents, but I don't know what kinds of concentrations might be involved with these.

The whiskey itself is fine, if it hasn't absorbed these chemicals, and the only advice I can offer you is to contact the customer service department of Seagram and ask what kind of solution they can propose.

Hope that helps
