Question

Cognac Bottle
I have unopend bottle of Cognac Napoleon "Leopold Brugerolle"
It has a cube form with drawings of cards on each side and on the bottom is a ash tray. It doesn't have a date but its with my family for at least 40 years. Do you have any idea of its value??
Thanks

Answer
Hi Ruben

Distilled spirits like this are so high in alcohol that they don't change much over time.  THe good news is that your bottle should be perfectly good to drink.  The bad news is that it won't have appreciated in value the way some fine wines do.  I'd guess that yours is worth about what a currently bottling is worth--about $45 or so.

But the bottle itself might be worth more than the liquid inside.  I'd check with the people at antiquebottles.com.  They are a great group, and can tell what bottles are collectible these days.

Hope that helps.  Sorry that I don't have more exciting news for you.
