Beverages/Old bottle of Bacardi Rum

Question
I have this bottle of bacardi rum. Can't find any info anywhere, thus I'm guessing it is rare. The bottle is brown/amber in color. It is shaped more like a wine bottle. The label reads as follows from top to bottom: Extra Superior, Philadelphia, 1876, Ron Bacardi Superior De Bacardi Y Cia. Establecido en 1862. Santiago De Cuba. The award label attached at the bottom has various year medals with Paris 1900 being the most recent. The tin seal cover read Marc De Fabrica with the word Austria etched into it. It is unopened and possible that an ounce give or take may have evaporated? Any info would be a great help. Image attached. P.S. If unknown to you, any idea who would know. Thank you for your help.
AnswerHi Liz!
Distilled spirits like this are so high in alcohol that they don't change much in the bottle, for better or worse. The good news is that this should be perfectly good to drink. The bad news is that it won't have appreciated in value the way some fine wines do. This is worth just about as much as a current bottling of decent rum.
The dates you have provided are all anniversary dates, rather than production dates. 1876 was the great Philadelphia Exposition...and this company won an award there.
You might try contacting the guys at antiquebottles.com They are very nice people, and it's possible the that bottle itself will have more value than the liquid inside. They're the ones who could tell you that.
Sorry that I can't give you more exciting news.
