Question
I have a 1959 Kaysers Zeltinger, light white moselle wine, unopened. From what I've read it is worth just about what a wine bottle decoration is worth. Do you agree? Could you tell me anything about it? Its been around my parents house as long as I can remember! thank you

Answer
Hi Stacy

I agree.  This one is just too darn old.  The fruit will have faded, and there won't be much pleasure in the bottle.   The Moselle ( tributary of the Rhine)  is famous for making wonderfully delicate white wines from Riesling grapes that are charming when they are young, and often age for quite a few years into a more complex and richer character.  But few last more than twenty-five years, and this one is well past fifty!

Sorry I can't give you better news
