Question
I found 3 bottles of wine in the basement and am curious about their value and potential taste!

The first sounds impressive...The label reads:

    Baron Philippe De Rothschild S.A.
    Mouton- Cadet
     Bordeaux Blanc
   Appellation Bordeaux Blanc Contrllee
         SEC
         Un vin Baron Philippe
                1977

The second bottles Label reads:
   Leonard Kreusch
 Trier     1969    Germany  (Upper label)

America's Largest Selling German Wines
Zeller Schwarze Katz   (main label)
    Moselle Wine

The third bottle reads:
Verdi Spumonte
BOSCA       (no vintage on label)

I am anxious to hear your thoughts.
Was this a trash or treasure trove!
Thank you!

Answer
Hi Kathleen

I am afraid I don't have great news for you.  These wines were made to drink relatively young, and offered some nice fruit flavors and simply structure.  But over time the fruit has faded, the color browned, and the pleasure pretty much disappeared.  These were never meant to be aged, and age hasn't been kind to them. They won't have any value to collectors or on the auction market.

I am sorry to be the bearer of such sad news.
