what is a gallon of seagram's seven dated 1972, and unopened worth?

Distilled spirits like this don't change over time in the bottle--the alcohol level is too high. So the good news is that yours is perfectly good to drink. The bad news is that it won't have appreciated in value the way some fine wines do. This is worth just about what a current bottling of the same stuff is worth...and I'd suggest drinking it, not selling it.
