Question
Dear Paul,
I have a bottle of White White Horse Whisky.    The date on the bottle is ( Original Recipe 1746 )  Estab. 1742 as you know.   The bottle is in good cond. With the except. Of it has been possibly opened, little liquid remains, however the metal cap and hinge are still on the bottle.      I love collecting and however never seen one like this.   Is it a collector item and is there a value ?    Thank you so much for your time.   Tina LaBate

Answer
Hi Tina

Yes--but that date is the date of the distillery, not of your bottle.

Because your bottle doesn't contain any liquid, I can't give you a value for it.  If it were full of Scotch, the liquid would be worth only about $25.  But the bottle may be worth a lot more.  You'll have to ask the guys at antiquebottles.com about that.

I am an expert in liquors and wines....but do not collect bottles!~
