Beverages/Apple Cider Question

Question
I would love to make apple cider and I read your answer about the apple cider question, but I'm wondering how long do you let it ferment for and what are sulfites and where do you get them? Thanks so much!

Answer
Thank you for your question.

Apple cider will ferment in about 2-3 weeks.  Sulfites are a naturally occurring compound which prevent microbial growth.  In order to prevent damage to your cider you may purchase sulfites on home wine maker web sites.

Please feel free to contact me if I may be of further assistance.
