Question
I'm allergic to sulfites which just happened recently and have been looking for answers.  Can you tell me if sulfites are added to organic apple cider?  Or if it occurs naturally in the fermentation process such is true with wine?

Answer
Hi Roseann:

If the apple cider is fermented, then it will probably have sulfites.  Even plain apple juice can be pretty high in these things, because they are so good at preventing the oxidation and browning of the juice.

Have you spoken to your physician about this?  If so, he or she should have list of foods that are a concern, including almost all dried fruits...
