Question
HELLO; I HAVE A RECIPE FOR CHICKEN THAT CALLS FOR RED WINE IN THE RECIPE. I DO NOT DRINK WINE NOR DO I COOK WITH IT SO WHAT BRAND IS THE BEST, AND WHAT TYPE? I DON'T KNOW A CABRINET FROM A ZINFINDEL. I KNOW I SPELLED THAT WRONG AS WELL!LOL! THANK YOU!

Answer
Hi CIndy

You are in luck. Wines for cooking aren't nearly so important as the wines you drink with your dinner.  If your recipe calls for a red wine, you can use any basic red wine.  Try a simple Burgundy that you can find for about $3-4 a bottle, and it will be fine.  Alamden, Gallo, Franzia, Carlo Rossi, will all work just fine.

Hope you enjoy your recipe!
