Question
I have a bottle of the above number 29/595 . It has a letter of aunthticity that says it is from 21 demijohns of a very rare Grande Champagne Cognac. It was appraised by M. Raguenaud, Registered Broker .
It was produced early 1900's according to the documentation. Is this worth anything? Supposedly the buyer purchased it for $1800.00

Answer
Dear Randy:

This may be a more recent product--the company released a Succession JS on the 200th anniversary of the coronation of Napoleon as Holy Roman Emperor...and that bottle sells for about $3,000.

If it is the older version ( preseumably produced in 1904 for the 100th anniversary ) then its value is really quite hard to define.  Distilled spirits don't improve with age in the bottle, only in the barrel, so the product itself won't be any better...but for a collector, this might have additional value.  Either way, it's probably worth more than what you have it appraised at.
