Please can you tell me if Ginger Wine Essence is still available.

We use to buy it at a Chemists usually at this time of year.

You would add sugar and water to produce a few pints of a concentrate which you would then put a small amount of in a cup add boiling water and drink. It was very warming and brilliant for colds.

Please can you help me

I can't tell you if it is available at the Chemist--I am in the US, and you must be in the UK.  But if you can't find ginger essence at a Chemist, you might find some at an Asian food store.  That's where it is sold in the US.
