Question
I have a bottle of Grand Marnier Grand cuvee.  It is in a Lalique decanter which is sealed with silver twine and a metal stopper with cork and is safety sealed with plastic so it has never been opened.  It also has a crystal Lalique stopper that came with it.  Both the bottle and the crystal stopper are in a blue satin lined box (box is a bit split on the sides).  I want to sell is but have no idea where to go, what it is worth etc.  I went to Lalique in New York and they could tell me nothing.  I friend of mine said that the decanter itself was worth at least $3,000 - $4,000.  Do you have any idea who I should speak to?

Answer
HI Jerome

Gotham Wines in New York has these for sale at $999, so that would be a pretty good estimate of value.  I don't know how many they have, but I don't see these come up on ebay very often.  The realy challenge is that it is illegal for individuals to sell alcohol in the USA.  On ebay you usually have to state that the contents are not for consumption, just to get around that problem.
