Question
I have an unopened bottled of Napoleon Cognac Courvoisier from my
Grandfather. The box is brown with several sillouhettes of Napoleon and a
golden eagle on the sides. There is also a black cirlce with the words NOMBRE
LIMITE CONGAC around it. The bottle itself is green w/ another Napoleon
sillouhette on top. The label again has the circle with NOMBRE LIMITE on it,
and in the middle it has No. AD1784. There is a small label on the neck that
has BY APPOINTMENT THE LATE KING GEORGE VI on it. I have no idea of the
age of the bottle, but apparrently my Grandfather had it for at least 25 years.
I would estimate it to be 30-40 years old. I know that the Cognac will not
taste any better or worse with the age, but do you have an idea of what this
bottle may be worth?

Answer
Hi AJ

This has to date back to the 1950's because Queen Elizabeth was crowned in 1952--and this bottle refers to her late father.

I would estimate this at around $150-200 for the bottle--but perhaps more to a bottle collector than a connoisseur of Cognac.
