Question
I inherited a bottle collection that among other wonderfull bottles, contains three bottles with their boxes. They each have two tax stamps, one dated 1917 and the other dated 1933.  The boxes contain the words "for medicinal purposes only". I believe our great uncle saved these himself as he was a bartender in Chicago around the twenties.  He went on to collect many other bottles from worldly travels including some from Havana Cuba.  One is dated 1919, another 1933.

Do you hae any idea how I can sell this collection?

thanks for your help

Answer
HI Tom:

These sound cool!  The medicinal purposes labels were designed because during Prohibition, you could only produce wine for religious or medicinal purposes....!

It seems that ebay has a pretty active community when it comes to most kinds of collections, including bottles and corkscrews, but if you want to get a little more expert advice along the way, you might try these guys:

Hope that helps.
