Question
hi
i have been given some bottles of dom perignon by my father
and just interested in the value of them because they are quite old, 1 bottle of dom perignon 1961 1 bottle of dom 1971 2x bottle of 1996,any advice would be great.

Answer
Hi Stuart

This is a bit of a question of taste.  The older two bottles are probably past their prime--a bit tired, maybe losing too much of their fruit.  But still interesting wines, and worth trying.  The 1996 bottles should be lovely--rich, full of flavor, and absolutely at their peak.

But don't be afraid.  I would try all of them, and just have a back up for the older ones.  You should have some nice experiences ahead of you.  Value?  Up to $250 per bottle?
