i have a un opened bottle of haigs gold label 70% how can i find out how old it is thanks

Hi Paul

I don't think there is any clever key to this answer...the only thing you can do is contact the company.  They will probably need to know exactly what the label looks like--you might even have to send them a photo.  They may also be able to tell you how to interpret the bottling code on the bottle, but most companies try to avoid doing that.  The code is there so they can track the bottlings, but they certainly don't want consumers looking for one bottling date or another.  So they always hide the code in a series of numbers of letters.  If you can find that, they may be able to solve it for you.  

Does that help?  I wish I could do more.  There are some websites for bottle collectors, and they have some information as well...but they would all need a photo of the label to help.
