Question
I recently purchase a bottle of whiskey in a small shop in Asia. The Brand name on the box and bottle is Dunhill I am trying to find out who made this. It does say it's a product of UK.

Answer
Hi John

Here is a quick background on Dunhill:  Justerini & Brooks' was established in London by the Italian wine merchant, Giacomo Justerini, in 1749 and began selling Scotch whisky thirty years later. In 1962 the company built on previous amalgamations by combining with W. & A. Gilbey to form International Distillers and Vintners Limited (IDV). Grand Metropolitan bought IDV, then part of Watney Mann & Truman, in 1972. J & B have created a range of high quality premium whiskies for Alfred Dunhill Limited, including Dunhill Centenary, Dunhill's Celebration Edition and Dunhill's Gentlemen's Speyside Blend.

And a Tasting Comment : A combination of some thirty individual whiskies, some more than twenty years old, Dunhill Old Master is an exceptionally smooth, richly flavoured blend.

Which is a very long and complicated way of saying that Dunhill is a brand for J&B!
