Question
Paul,  i have a bottle of crown royal in the original bag and box dated 1966.  It is unopened.  was wondering the possible value and where i might be able to locate a buyer.  thanks for your help

Answer
Hi Jeff

The packaging for your bottle may be worth a lot of money, but the whiskey inside isn't.  That's because distilled spirits are so high in alcohol that they don't change much in the bottle, for better or for worse.  It still should be perfectly safe to drink, but won't really be any better than a current bottling.

Bottle collectors might pay more than beverage connoisseurs for this one.  Check with antiquebottles.com.

It's illegal for private individuals to sell alcoholic beverages in the USA.  You'll have to work through an auction house like Sothebys, or winebid.com.

Hope that helps--and I am sorry to be bearer of sad news.
