Question -
why do people swirl wines and some liqor around in there glass before drinking it?
Answer -
Dear Corey:

Before we can smell the aroma of a wine, that aroma has to evaporate out of the glass.  Swirling the glass exposes more of the liquid to the air, and helps those aromas evaporate into our noses....which lets us smell them better.

Try it!  You will be surprised what a difference it makes.

i thot it had something to do with the sediment in the alcohol. i didnt know it had to do with the scent. why would someone want to smell it to begin with?

Answer
Dear Corey: 98% of all taste is in the aroma.  Try this for an experiment.  Hold your nose pinched closed with your fingers, and then drink a sip of wine.  Only when you let go of your nose, and allow the aromas to waft into your sinuses will you really get any sense of the flavor of the wine.
