Beverly Hills 90210/Dylan's wife?

Question
What is the story behind Dylan meeting and marrying his wife, and why was she killed?  I stopped watching the series by this time and I don't know any of this history?  Was the intention to kill Dylan, and if so, why?

Thanks.

Answer
Dylan meets Antonia because he is trying to get closer to Tony Marchette, the guy who killed his father.  He attends the same class as a kid named Tony Marchette (even though Dylan is not a student at CU anymore), who he believes to be Tony's son.  When he gets there, he finds out that "Tony" is really Antonia played by Rebecca Gayheart.  At first, he just hangs out with her to get closer to his father's killer, but eventually he really falls in love with her.  She eventually finds out what is going on and thinks that Dylan is using her, but eventually, she becomes angry with her father too.  Bruno, her bodyguard, knows who Dylan is as does Tony Marchette.  Antonia and Dylan get married and are supposed to leave town, but they can't find their cat, Trouble, and they don't want to leave him in the rain.  Dylan is supposed to go to Tony's to get a "gift," but Antonia goes instead, so that Dylan can look for Trouble outside in the rain.  Bruno finds out that the plot is to kill Dylan, but by the time he finds out, it's too late because Dylan turned off the ringer on their phones.  Bruno gets a hold of Brandon at the Peach Pit, but by the time Brandon gets to Dylan's, Antonia has already left. Antonia's car (Dylan's Porsche) is cornered at a stop light and she is shot to death.  By the time Brandon and Dylan catch up to the car, Antonia is already dead.  Tony feels horrible for killing his daughter, and offers Dylan a free shot at him.  Dylan says "my father is dead, your daughter is dead. we're even." (which I personally think is a weird way of looking at things).

Hope that helps!
