ANSWER: can you provide any context on this?  Like do you know the situation, or who she was talking to?

I am having a really hard time with this because I keep thinking of DJ Tanner telling Kimmy Gibbler "my mom died because of a drunk driver, I wasn't going to lose my best friend the same way." - haha...  The only things I can think of are: 1. Slumber Party when Brenda tells the girls about stealing her best friends boyfriend and then Kelly and Brenda get in a fight but then they make up.. brenda could have said something like this then... 2. Perfectly Perfect (kelly's 18th birthday) when Kelly ends up in the hospital because of the diet pills.  Kelly and Brenda have a little heart to heart chat in the hospital, but the big line there is "even though you may not always know it, and even though i may not always show it. i love you kelly."  and your line kind of doesnt make sense in this context because i don't know who she would be referring to as the previous best friend. .. kelly and brenda are already rocky by this point.  and then as far as donna goes... in mr. walsh goes to washington... when donna finds out that david is cheating on her, she is lying in brendas bed later and tells brenda "you're my best friend brenda."  I just cant really think of any other storylines like this.  I think that Slumber Party is my best guess.  Do you remember who Brenda was referring to as the "old best friend"?
