Question
Hi Mel! I was wondering if you could please give me the dialogue from the episode "One Man and a Baby"? The scene I would like is the one where Brenda and Brandon are talking in the living room and Brandon is holding the baby then gives the baby to Brenda. Brenda and Brandon are my favorite characters. Thank you in advance.

Answer
Hi Brenda,

Here is the scene from "One Man and a Baby" you requested.

Cindy holds Melissa's baby in the Walsh living room.

C: What happened to Melissa?
Brandon: Uh, her parents are out of town, the babysitter bailed, and she has this Harvard interview today.  ... But you guys'll help, right?

Jim comes down the stairs in a good mood.

J: Did I hear screams?  (spots wife with baby) Come on, Cindy.  We gotta go.
B: Where are you going?
C: Lunch with dad's client, remember?
B: Oh, yes.  ... Oh, no ...
C: (to baby, Jim by her side) Oh, your skin is so soft.  You smell so good.  Yes, you do.
B: Hey!  You know, guys, I - I don't want to break up this little love ... fest.  So, we'll go with you!
J: (smiling)  I don't think that's exactly the vocal accompaniment the Bel Age Hotel is looking for.
C: Get Brenda to help you.  (gives Joey, the baby, back) She's a wonderful babysitter.
J: Good luck. (hand on Brandon's shoulder) ... Dad.

They leave, and Brenda enters down the stairs.

Brenda: (excited) Is that Joey?  (car honks outside)  I'm coming!
Brandon: Where you going?  (she jumps down the step suggestively)
Brenda: Guess.
Brandon: Brenda, you can't go skydiving.  You're afraid of heights, remember?
Brenda: (to Joey, picking him up)  Hi ... (to Brandon) Don said that you can't even see the ground.
Brandon: Think about that for a second.  Just think about that.  You CAN'T see the ground?  That's high.
Brenda: (hands Joey back) Here.  Take him.  (grabs stuffed animal) Now ...
Brandon: I'm here, Joey.
Brenda: (places the stuffed bear on his stomach) This'll make him feel close to the womb.  (she leaves)
Brandon: I'm impressed.  I think you owe Joey the knowledge of your expertise, here!

The door closes.  Brandon is left to care for the baby himself.

Thanks for the question!

All the best,

Mel

Can Dylan solve quadratic equations? What makes up a "mega-burger"? If an answer exists, I probably know it. Whether your question is general, begging the context of all 10 seasons, or completely inane, feel free to drop me a line either way. I will provide episode reference numbers for each response and plan to have some fun with this. Trivia quizzes often need correction, and publications will get their plotlines/characters/relationships mixed up too. I accept dialogue/scene requests, but please limit your inquiry to 1-2 per question. I only know music from the original broadcasts/reruns, not the DVDs. Been a fan since 1990 and didn't miss a beat.

Experience

Well, I began watching "Beverly Hills, 90210" at the tender age of 9 and a half, during its original run. By 11, I was a huge fan; 13, obsessed; 14, growing bitter. I don't like S6 - S10 as much as Seasons 1 - 5. But, technically, I still watch all of them in some way. Do this for 20 years and you'll remember the darndest things.

Education/Credentials
I'd like to say I've earned a "degree" on the life and times of the original eight, with specific concentration on Seasons 1 thru 5, any Jack McKay drama, Dylan/Kelly together or apart, and the guest stars of 1992-1994. Season 4, I think, was the best and strikingly different from any other. My only weakness might be later-season 'stand-in' characters like Matt and Noah, and the ever-changing ownerships of The AfterDark.
