QUESTION: Hi there, I recently bought seasons 1-3 on dvd, have watched all episodes and am a bit confused as I think there may have been an episode or two omitted (unless they come in later seasons which I highly doubt as I am sure the gang was still in highschool).  My first absent scene was when Donna had to write some sort of paper and present it to the class however she was having trouble with it - eventually she likened it to all the shoes she'd had over the years and one pair (when she was 14) were doc martins which she said her dad didn't feel happy about seeing as though he was DR. Martin.  
The other scene I missed was one where Brenda is getting over Dylan and is listening to REM's losing my religion (I loved that song and it was appropriate as when that episode first aired, I was breaking up with my own boyfriend) and I remember Brenda's mum commenting on how many times was she going to listen to the song.  
My other absent scene was when Emily Valentine returns and Brenda is having problems with Dylan yet again and they go on stage singing Breaking up is hard to do.
Could you just clarify for me whether these scenes were not able to make it to the dvd version or if I can expect them to turn up in later seasons.  (hope this all makes sense!!) Thanks

ANSWER: it is very possible that these scenes did not make the dvd versions. They often cut out scenes and one of the biggest thing they do is replace known music from the episodes with lesser known (less expensive songs).  If they used the Losing My Religion song during the season, that doesn't mean they have the clearance to use the song for the DVDs.  It's very legal oriented and had a lot to do with copyright issues.  hope this helps...

QUESTION: Thanx Lauren for your prompt reply - it's very frustrating that there is so much editing done for the dvd versions.  I'm in Australia so we don't really get re-runs over here. If it's not too much trouble, could you let me know what episodes those scenes could be from - it's funny that they are the ones that have really stuck in my head from years ago, yet I'm not able to watch them again.

1) I thought the doc martin's episode is from their college years. Her and Andrea are in the same class and Andrea's new boyfriend is the teacher. This is Season 4, Episode 5 "Radio Daze"..
2) This is from Season 3, Episode 20 "Parental Guidance Recommended". Great episode.
3) I also love this episode. It's actually from Emily Valentine's first episode. Season 2, Episode 8. "Wildfire"
