Beverly Hills 90210/Holiday Episodes

Question
First off, thanks all for you help recently. I have a few other questions that I would very much appreciate your help with.

How many Thanksgiving/Christmas holidays was there over the run over the show?
What episode does Dylan Mckay drive his car off the hill and end up in hospital because of that and his heroin addiction?
There was obviously massive bands in the 90's like REM, Roxette and Crowded house. In what episodes did these bands play? and is there any way to watch the original scenes. The only ones I can think of is when Dylan and Brenda break up 'Losing my Religion" plays.

Thank You :D

Answer
Hi Danni,

There have been 16 Thanksgiving/Christmas episodes.  Sometimes the former just doesn't exist, lol.  They are:

2.17, "Chuckie's Back"
2.18, "A Walsh Family Christmas"
3.15, "The Kindness of Strangers"
3.16, "It's A Totally Happening Life"
4.12, "Radar Love"
4.15, "Somewhere In the World It's Christmas"
5.15, "Christmas Comes Each Time This Year"
6.12, "Breast Side Up"
6.15, "Angels We Have Heard On High"
7.11, "If I Had A Hammer"
7.13, "Gift Wrapped"
8.14, "Santa Knows"
9.08, "You Say Goodbye, I Say Hello"
9.11, "Marathon Man"
10.10, "What's In A Name"
10.12, "Nine Yolks Whipped Lightly"

Dylan accidentally drives his Porsche off a cliff at the very end of "Intervention" (5.09).  He's in the hospital and fighting for his life for the duration of "The Dreams Of Dylan McKay" (5.10).

Yes, there were tons of big name bands that played during scenes and live at the Peach Pit After Dark.  Just about every episode, in fact.  If you can be more specific (seasonal range or a top 100, live band/not live, etc), I'd be happy to give you some names and episodes in a separate question.  You can watch all of these scenes with the original music when you view reruns on TV.  The DVDs, unfortunately, will have replacement music, particularly if it's not a performance.  Legal YouTube streams will also have the DVD versions of the episodes.

Thanks for the question!

All the best,

Mel

Can Dylan solve quadratic equations? What makes up a "mega-burger"? If an answer exists, I probably know it. Whether your question is general, begging the context of all 10 seasons, or completely inane, feel free to drop me a line either way. I will provide episode reference numbers for each response and plan to have some fun with this. Trivia quizzes often need correction, and publications will get their plotlines/characters/relationships mixed up too. I accept dialogue/scene requests, but please limit your inquiry to 1-2 per question. I only know music from the original broadcasts/reruns, not the DVDs. Been a fan since 1990 and didn't miss a beat.

Experience

Well, I began watching "Beverly Hills, 90210" at the tender age of 9 and a half, during its original run. By 11, I was a huge fan; 13, obsessed; 14, growing bitter. I don't like S6 - S10 as much as Seasons 1 - 5. But, technically, I still watch all of them in some way. Do this for 20 years and you'll remember the darndest things.

Education/Credentials
I'd like to say I've earned a "degree" on the life and times of the original eight, with specific concentration on Seasons 1 thru 5, any Jack McKay drama, Dylan/Kelly together or apart, and the guest stars of 1992-1994. Season 4, I think, was the best and strikingly different from any other. My only weakness might be later-season 'stand-in' characters like Matt and Noah, and the ever-changing ownerships of The AfterDark.
