Experience I have been recording this show on VHS since I was nine years old. I have seen every episode at least ten times, sometimes more. In most cases (seasons 1-7 especially) I can quote entire scenes. I have every episode on tape and can easily point out differences between original broadcasts and the episodes on the DVDs.

You are the expert here. Thanks so much for your answers to my questions. I've got two Kelly questions.
I am sure someone must have asked you this first question.
Ok, Kelly Taylor goes away to New York to model. She has burns on her arm and neck and is subconscious about them. When she comes back from NY and brings Colin with her suddenly she has no scars on her neck. What happened there? No explanation of the burns or surgery.
Also, what type of modeling is Kelly doing? She's way too short to be a clothing model.
Question 2: When is Kelly's birthday? I think they've got this one screwed up.
I saw an episode (the one where Kelly is taking diet pills) and it's her birthday. For some reason I feel that during her birthday in this episode...it's the Spring..season 2.
In the episode where everyone celebrates Kelly's 21st birthday in season 6...it's September. What happened there?
Answer Yeah - both of these are good questions, and I'm sorry, but I don't have any concrete answers because there really aren't any...
As far as the burns go, they continuously fade throughout season 5. She has the bandages in the beginning and then slowly but surely, the injuries start to go away. Jackie tells people that she will be back to normal and that you'll "hardly" be able to see the scars, so I think we are supposed to believe that they faded so much that they weren't visible anymore. In reality, I think that they had exhausted the storyline and wanted to keep it back in season 5.
Kelly is definitely not a fashion model. She is a commercial print model. We see alot of her head shots throughout season 5, and we see her cover of seventeen magazine. This magazine type modeling is what we are lead to believe that she does. It doesn't make a whole lot of sense that she went to NY except that it let them bring back Colin and separate her from Brandon and Dylan for an extended period of time. There are factual problems in these storylines, but they did it to work with the show.
As far as Kelly's birthday, this is one of the big continuity problems in the series. Her 18th birthday (in "perfectly perfect" in season 3) aired on March 24th - making her birthday clearly in March. Then, for her 21st birthday in season 6, it switches to September. I think that they did this to create an event in which Kelly is the center of attention so that they could create tension between the brand new Colin and Brandon and Dylan. Her birthday at The Greek does play very well and brings out Colin's character in a way that we wouldn't see if Kelly hadn't had a special day. I don't really know what else to say about that except that they moved a few of the characters' birthdays (including the Walshes who never have a party) throughout the series - Kelly's birthday remained in September from season 6 on.
