ANSWER: Her name is dana barron - she is great and is probably most well known for playing audrey in the original chevy chase vacation movie. The freshman buddy characters including herbert and sue scanlon were originally introduced to serve as the main characters in a spin off that would feature west beverly students since the main gang was graduating. The characters didn't do well with test audiences though and melrose place was off to a mediocre start so the idea was scrapped. Please let me know if you want to know anything else!

QUESTION: Thank you for your response. I have one more question. Was the inside of the Walsh house and Dylan's house filmed in a set or in the house?
Answer They were shot on sets for both dylan's and the walsh house but all of the scenes outside of the walsh house - playing basketball etc - were taped outside of the real house in altadena ca. If you go to visit the house you can see the arch over the driveway and everything.the same thing is true of the west beverly scenes. The outside scenes were shot there and you can see the courtyard area if you visit torrance high school - and of course the front of the school. The pilot is the exception though because on the pilot - the interior shots were actually filmed inside torrance high school too. The surroundings of torrance high school are actually quite different then they appear on the show though and there is not really a parking lot in front of the school.
