Beverly Hills 90210/Are there any 90210 tours?

Question
I am a huge fan of Beverly Hills 90210 (the original), I am currently finishing up watching season 10. I am planning a trip next year to California and would love to be able to see some of the spots featured on the shows (Walsh house, Dylan's House, Beach House, etc), also the studio where the show was filmed. Do you know about any of these places or any suggestions for me?

Thanks!

Mallory

Answer
Hi Mallory,

I don't believe there are any official set tours for the show (discounting the Universal Studios tour I took in 1992 where they showed us the S3 "Paris" exteriors - if it's the same tour now), but here are the filming addresses I know of for houses:

Kelly's house:
3959 Longridge Avenue, Sherman Oaks, CA.

Steve's house:
16711 Bosque Avenue, Encino, CA.

Andrea's house (Pilot, in "The Valley"):
540 N. Grammercy Place, L.A. CA, just off Melrose Avenue.

Beach Apt:
3500 The Strand, Hermosa Beach, CA.

Ray Pruit's house:
6628 Canteloupe Drive, Van Nuys, CA.

Marianne Moore's house:
417 Amapola Lane, Bel Air, CA.

Walsh house:
1675 East Altadena Drive, Altadena, CA.  Exit onto Altadena Drive from the 210 Freeway, head north about three miles and the home is on your right.

Dylan's house:
Dylan’s house is located about half a block away from the Walshes, at 1605 East Altadena Drive.

I've known of many fan friends who've visited the Walsh house and Dylan's without any problem or confusion.  The residents are used to seeing fans around.  Same for the beach house address.

You also must hit up "West Beverly High" and "California University":

Torrance High School
2200 West Carson Street
Torrance, CA 90501

Occidental College
1600 Campus Road
Los Angeles, CA 90041

The classic Peach Pit exterior is unrecognizable and has been turned into a sushi joint, but the original (Season 1) exterior is from the Apple Pan restaurant.

(Peach Pit exterior)
45 S. Fair Oaks Ave
Pasadena CA

Apple Pan
10801 West Pico Boulevard
Los Angeles, CA 90064

Peach Pit Afterdark (although it's really the production studio/just a brick wall)
15001 Calvert St.
Van Nuys, CA

Not sure what shape the production studio is in now, but that's where they filmed.

And these are also kind of essential ...

Bel Age Hotel
1020 N. San Vicente Blvd
West Hollywood, CA

Donna and Kelly's boutique
7250 Melrose Ave
Los Angeles CA

Thanks for the question!

All the best,

Mel

Can Dylan solve quadratic equations? What makes up a "mega-burger"? If an answer exists, I probably know it. Whether your question is general, begging the context of all 10 seasons, or completely inane, feel free to drop me a line either way. I will provide episode reference numbers for each response and plan to have some fun with this. Trivia quizzes often need correction, and publications will get their plotlines/characters/relationships mixed up too. I accept dialogue/scene requests, but please limit your inquiry to 1-2 per question. I only know music from the original broadcasts/reruns, not the DVDs. Been a fan since 1990 and didn't miss a beat.

Experience

Well, I began watching "Beverly Hills, 90210" at the tender age of 9 and a half, during its original run. By 11, I was a huge fan; 13, obsessed; 14, growing bitter. I don't like S6 - S10 as much as Seasons 1 - 5. But, technically, I still watch all of them in some way. Do this for 20 years and you'll remember the darndest things.

Education/Credentials
I'd like to say I've earned a "degree" on the life and times of the original eight, with specific concentration on Seasons 1 thru 5, any Jack McKay drama, Dylan/Kelly together or apart, and the guest stars of 1992-1994. Season 4, I think, was the best and strikingly different from any other. My only weakness might be later-season 'stand-in' characters like Matt and Noah, and the ever-changing ownerships of The AfterDark.
