Question
Hi! I'm a big 90210 fan and I have a question concerning Prom Night in High School. When Brandon and Andrea go up to the room that Tony had rented for him and Brenda, do they end up sleeping together?

Thanks for your time!

Answer
Hi Michele,

No, they don't sleep together. ;)  Not then, and not ever.  The prom episode does, however, leave things open-ended.  It's not until the very beginning of the next episode, "Something In the Air" (3.28), that we get to hear them discuss the aftermath.  Basically, 'friendship rears its ugly head', just like in the S1 finale.

Here is the dialogue from both scenes:

____________________________

Brandon and Andrea enter the suite.

Bn: Nice room.

A: Check it out ...

Bn: Well, at least Toni was planning on seducing my sister in style.

Both laugh.  Andrea sits down.

A: Ooh.  The bed is comfortable.
Bn:  (Picks up flyer)  Hey, we get Spectravision.  Wanna check out a movie?
A: No.
Bn: I could order room service.
A: Brandon, we just ate.  (laughs)

Brandon lays down on the bed, legs and arms crossed.  Andrea stretches out.

Bn:  Yep ...
A:  Huh.  How do you like this?  The two people least likely to make use of this room ... end up with it.
Bn:  Yeah, it is pretty ironic.

Andrea smiles, then laughs, twirling the rose in her hand.

A:  ... No.
Bn: (Eyeing her with comedic suspicion) What?  What are you thinking?
A: Maybe we shouldn't, uh ... waste an opportunity like this.

Andrea starts to move the rose across Brandon's chest.  He looks confused.

A: I mean, it is our prom.  And we're in a beautiful hotel in a big, comfortable bed ...

Brandon busts out in nervous laughter.  She smirks at him.

Bn: Andrea, are you saying what I think you're saying?
A: I don't know.  Am I?

More laughter ...

Brandon catches Andrea on campus, prepping the graduation gowns.

Bn: Hi.
A:  Hi.
Bn:  I, uh ... called you yesterday.  Your grandma give you the message?
A: Yeah, I'm sorry, I, uh ... I had to study for finals.  You know, if I want to beat Joey Wong for Valedictorian, I gotta work my tail off.
Bn: Still could have called me, y' know.
A:  Alright ... Okay.  The reason I didn't call you back is because I didn't stop what was going on in the hotel room.  I started it ... and you stopped it.
Bn: Come on, Andrea.  We've been around this track too many times.  I didn't want us to do anything we were gonna regret.
A: Brandon, you're right!  You are absolutely right, but ... if I don't do something I'm gonna regret soon, I am going to scream.

She laughs.  He smiles.

I feel like Brandon or Andrea, at one point, mentions that they had started to undress on prom night but then just ended up laughing about the whole matter.  I'm not sure which episode confirms this, though.

Thanks for the question!

All the best,

Mel

Can Dylan solve quadratic equations? What makes up a "mega-burger"? If an answer exists, I probably know it. Whether your question is general, begging the context of all 10 seasons, or completely inane, feel free to drop me a line either way. I will provide episode reference numbers for each response and plan to have some fun with this. Trivia quizzes often need correction, and publications will get their plotlines/characters/relationships mixed up too. I accept dialogue/scene requests, but please limit your inquiry to 1-2 per question. I only know music from the original broadcasts/reruns, not the DVDs. Been a fan since 1990 and didn't miss a beat.

Experience

Well, I began watching "Beverly Hills, 90210" at the tender age of 9 and a half, during its original run. By 11, I was a huge fan; 13, obsessed; 14, growing bitter. I don't like S6 - S10 as much as Seasons 1 - 5. But, technically, I still watch all of them in some way. Do this for 20 years and you'll remember the darndest things.

Education/Credentials
I'd like to say I've earned a "degree" on the life and times of the original eight, with specific concentration on Seasons 1 thru 5, any Jack McKay drama, Dylan/Kelly together or apart, and the guest stars of 1992-1994. Season 4, I think, was the best and strikingly different from any other. My only weakness might be later-season 'stand-in' characters like Matt and Noah, and the ever-changing ownerships of The AfterDark.
