Question
What is the artist and song title playing in the back ground when Brenda and Dylan have a fight in the first season. He chases after her on the sidewalk and they make up.  This is after Jim forces them to break up.  This is in the first season maybe between episodes 19 - 21.

Answer
Hello Brian,

The 10th episode "Isn't It Romantic?" from the 1st season had a scene where Brenda is scared by and runs from Dylan after he smashed a ceramic planter at her feet following her crying for him to stop yelling at her and when he could no longer contain his rage over his dad being home. Dylan chases after and catches her, spins her around, and begs her not to leave him. The whole time Brenda is trying to shake free and telling him he's scaring her. Dylan breaks down and repeatedly says how his dad "just gets to him" and then buries his head in her shoulder crying. Then Dylan pulls back a little, they look at each other, then they start to kiss. The music used in the background of that scene appears to be generic show music.

However, later on in the same episode: Dylan comes over to the Walsh house to apologize for not showing up for their 2nd date. Brenda was watching the movie "Dirty Dancing" and the song "She's Like The Wind" by Patrick Swayze played briefly before Brenda turned off the TV to talk to Dylan. Brenda was being distant with Dylan, but he finally gets her to come around and they end up making out on the sofa. (Brenda also was getting ready for that date while the song "Doing The Do" by Betty Boo played in the background. I cannot recall any other songs being played from the ones I named.)

In the Season One's 21st episode "Spring Dance", Brenda is upset over how she and Kelly are wearing the same dress. When they reach the dance's location (outside the hotel), Brenda is walking quickly trying to put some distance between her and Kelly and Dylan has to chase after her. He stops her and tells her to relax, they talk briefly where he calms her down and reveals that he got them a hotel room. There is a song being played in the background, but I cannot tell if it's by the band playing at the dance. The band is The Rave-ups. I know they performed the songs "She Says (Come Around)", "The Best I Can't", "Respectfully King of Rain" and "Smile" during the dance.

Jim does not force them to break up until the last episodes of the 2nd season after Brenda goes to Baja with Dylan without permission. However, they continue to sneak around behind Jim's back at the beginning of Season 3 until Brenda is sent to Paris. Brenda & Dylan do not actually break-up until mid-way in the 3rd season in the episode "Destiny Rides Again".

Hope this answers your question,

Expertise

I have seen all 10 seasons of 90210 and have every episode on tape to locate answers. My expertise is on the first 6 seasons and the characters Brenda and Dylan, but I will attempt to answer any question pertaining to the show. Please no scene/dialogue questions because they are very time-consuming and frustrating. However, I will be happy to clarify misunderstood dialogue due to whispering and such if I'm able to. I will attempt to answer any song question for the original airdates and syndication. NO DVD SONG QUESTIONS PLEASE. Please see my "Life Experience" in my profile for song question updates, it may pertain to your question.

Experience

I have every single episode on tape to find the answers. I watched and taped the show religiously. (All requests for copies of my videotapes/episodes will be declined.)
Update: The song used in "Crunch Time" during David's meth addiction is "Living In A Fantasy" by The Rainbow Band. Many thanks to the fellow 90210 Fan that contacted me with the info when they tracked it down. Also, the song used in "One Wedding and a Funeral" that Dylan & Toni dance to is "Nobody Knows Me" by Lyle Lovett. Same song is used during the scene where Dylan is crying while holding the wedding dress and then kitten. David & Donna's wedding song is "Spend My Life With You" by Eric Benet & Tamia. Same song was Steve & Janet's wedding song.
