I was wondering what happened between Brenda & Dylan in the first episode that they start dating. (Season 1) I remember that Dylan stood Brenda up at the movies, but I dont know why.  What did he say to Brenda to make her forgive him, and did they stay together after that point?  How did Brandon feel about that?

Hello Val,

Dylan didn't show for his date with Brenda because he had to help his father pack so he could leave town after he learned he was facing indictment on securities fraud. Dylan was not told where his dad was going so he would not be able to tell the FBI anything.

Dylan told Brenda the above to get her to forgive him. He also told her that he had been thinking about her the whole time. When Brenda said that he should have called her, he said he couldn't. Brenda told him that she tried to call him, Dylan said that no one told him. When Brenda said she felt bad about everything, Dylan said he didn't want her to feel bad anymore. Brenda then asked Dylan how did he want her to feel about him. They kissed, then he said "you are so warm", which lead to another kiss and then to making out on the sofa until Jim came home from work. (They were not caught kissing though.)

From that point, they were a couple. In fact, they were basically inseparable from their first date.

Brandon was a little bothered by them being together, but he didn't really say anything. However, Brandon is the one that ended up yelling at Dylan over him not showing up for the date. Brandon said it was one thing to shut him out and not talk to him, but when it was done to Brenda, she would see it as if she did something wrong. Dylan also later apologized to Brandon for "flaking out" on him, Brandon admitted that he guessed it bothered him more than he was willing to let on.
