Question
Hi!
I'm a big fan of Brenda and Dylan, and I think it was so sad that they didn't end up together!I couldn't watch the entire season 4, so I wanted to ask you if you could tell me what exactly happened between Brenda and Dylan on that season. Specially the fishing day, how Brenda decides to go to London, and what does Dylan feel about it.
Sorry, I know I'm asking too much! but I would love to know it! Thanks!

Answer
Hello Angie,

First, you can read episode summeries for 90210 at tv.com. Saying that, I'll try to provide some details of what Brenda & Dylan did together in Season 4. Brenda & Dylan were close friends during the season. Here are some highlights:

- When Brenda decided going to college in Minnesota wasn't for her, she spent the day fishing with Dylan. They talked about each other's experience in Paris and talked each other into going to college at CU. Also, they came close to kissing. Brenda stopped them saying they couldn't go down that road again because she didn't want to ruin the feeling that was between them at that moment. They agreed that they were the best of friends.

- They had Romantic Poetry class together. During "Take Back The Night" Week, they disagreed about what a poem was about.

- Jim asked Dylan to help him when Brenda became engaged to Stuart. Dylan told Brenda that if she married Stuart, there would never be another chance for them. Brenda reacted badly and moved out of her parents house into a hotel suite. When Brenda & Stuart decided to elope to Las Vegas, Dylan came to "show support". However, he did not speak up, Brenda called off the wedding on her own.

- Brenda encouraged Dylan to give Kelly a second chance after Kelly had broken up with John Sears. She told him that even after everything they had been through and him choosing Kelly over her, if he wanted to be with her, she would have taken him back with no questions asked.

- When Brenda dumped Stuart in Palm Springs, Dylan was the only one available to come get her (she was looking for Kelly when she called his house). On the ride home, she admitted to still being in love with him.

- When Brenda was arrested, she called Dylan for help. He's the only one that fully supported her.

- After Brenda won the role of 'Maggie' in "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof", Steve & Laura spread rumors that Brenda had slept with the director to secure the part. Dylan was the one that knew there was no way Brenda would do that.

- Dylan gave Brenda an opening night gift as well. Roy Randoph said it must have come from someone very special, when Brenda saw that it was from Dylan she told Roy that he was right.

- That role lead Brenda to be offered the chance to study at RADA in London for the summer. A week before she was to leave, she shows up at Dylan's house to thank him for his support throughout the auditioning process. She again states that she's still in love with him and that she always will be. Dylan says that he will appluad her from afar. She says she wants more than his applause and that she will not be gone forever. She asks him to give her something to come back to. They kiss and sink to the floor.

- When Season 5 starts, Dylan is shown listening to his answering machine while drinking beer. One message is where Brenda is trying to call him. The next is from Brandon saying that Brenda has been asked to stay on as a full-time student at RADA and that Brenda will try to call him again that weekend. Dylan just states in a sarcastic tone "I will not be gone forever, yeah right".

This is just some highlights that I remember right now.

Hope this is what you were looking for,
Crystal

Expertise

I have seen all 10 seasons of 90210 and have every episode on tape to locate answers. My expertise is on the first 6 seasons and the characters Brenda and Dylan, but I will attempt to answer any question pertaining to the show. Please no scene/dialogue questions because they are very time-consuming and frustrating. However, I will be happy to clarify misunderstood dialogue due to whispering and such if I'm able to. I will attempt to answer any song question for the original airdates and syndication. NO DVD SONG QUESTIONS PLEASE. Please see my "Life Experience" in my profile for song question updates, it may pertain to your question.

Experience

I have every single episode on tape to find the answers. I watched and taped the show religiously. (All requests for copies of my videotapes/episodes will be declined.)
Update: The song used in "Crunch Time" during David's meth addiction is "Living In A Fantasy" by The Rainbow Band. Many thanks to the fellow 90210 Fan that contacted me with the info when they tracked it down. Also, the song used in "One Wedding and a Funeral" that Dylan & Toni dance to is "Nobody Knows Me" by Lyle Lovett. Same song is used during the scene where Dylan is crying while holding the wedding dress and then kitten. David & Donna's wedding song is "Spend My Life With You" by Eric Benet & Tamia. Same song was Steve & Janet's wedding song.
