Question
QUESTION: Hello Crystal! I was wondering, if it's not too much trouble if you could clarify some misunderstood words for me in a few episodes:
1. In 'B.Y.O.B.' at the beginning of the episode Brenda and Dylan are talking by his locker. Brenda tells him about Donna's party and Dylan says, "I just...surf Baja this weekend" What does Dylan say before he says the word surf?
2. In 'Cardio Funk' when Dylan comes to Brenda's house after his AA meeting Brenda asks if he wants to come in but he says no and says something about, "the waves are happenin' and the...will probably blow out in a couple days. What does he say in that sentence?
3. In 'Commencement (1)' the gang is hanging out at the Peach Pit. Steve tells Donna to wake up her boyfriend and she says, "No." and tells him why then Steve says, "He's missing the last day of the...right here!" and it sounds like he said 'pizza party' but then Nat walks up and says, "Last day of the Peach Pit?" so I think I heard Steve wrong, or maybe I heard right...I don't know. Your help would be greatly appreciated. Please and Thank you.

ANSWER: Hello Loni,

Here's the answers to your questions...

1. Dylan's comment was: I just made plans to surf Baja this weekend.

2. Dylan's comment was: It's (he pauses) It's getting late and I got to get up early in the morning 'cause the waves are happening and the shape will probably blow out in a couple of days. (he pauses) Good night, Bren.

3. Steve's comment was: He's missing the last day of the Peach Pit party right here.

Hope this cleared everything up for you.

Take care,
Crystal

QUESTION: I was wondering if you could clear up a few more episodes for me then I will quit bothering you.
1. In 'Back Story' when Brenda comes to visit Dylan it sounded like Dylan says 'hey baby' when he opens the door? Does he or was I just hearing things? Then when they start kissing Dylan breaks the kiss and says, 'not until you get out of those smoke...clothes.' what does he say before clothes?
2. In 'Destiny Rides Again' Brenda and Dylan are arguing about the summer flings and Dylan mumbles something then says, 'being called a liar.' what does he say before 'being called a liar.' ? Then later in the episode Brenda makes a comment about 'drafting...angry letters' what does she say before angry?
3. In 'Divas' Brenda asks Dylan if he's ever heard of Roy Randolph and I couldn't make out a few words in his answer to the question. Then Brenda asks him if he could see her in the Maggie role and once again his answer was kind of mumbled and fast.
4. In 'Mr. Walsh Goes To Washington (1)' Brenda comes into the kitchen talking in a British accent and says, 'how 'bout a spot of tea to warm up...' and I couldn't make out the last word she said.
Your help would again be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Answer
Here you go...

1. Dylan only said a long drawn out "hey!" when he opened the door. Actually, the first thing Dylan said when he broke the kiss was: Babe, I can tell you brushed your teeth, but you still reek of cigarette smoke. After another kiss he said: Not until you get out of those smoke ridden clothes.

2. Dylan's words were: I was being called a liar, it made me see what a hypocrite I could be, I just couldn't live with it. Before that, he said: Wait a minute, weren't we just talking about your little French fling, Bren. I think you know exactly how things like this happen.

Brenda's comment was: Look, instead of drafting angry letters to the testing service, why don't you just take the test over?

3. Dylan's first comment was: Yes. Actually, when I was 12, my mom took me to New York City, we saw his production of "A Streetcar Named Desire" starring Holly Hunter before she was a big star. It was pretty awesome. His second comment was: Now that you mention it, I do see you as kind of a young Liz, minus the 8 marriages, give or take a Richard Burton.

4. Brenda's comment was: Morning Governor, morning Mum. How about a spot of tea to warm up my cockles?

Again, hope this is what you're looking for and cleared it up for you.

Take care,
Crystal

Expertise

I have seen all 10 seasons of 90210 and have every episode on tape to locate answers. My expertise is on the first 6 seasons and the characters Brenda and Dylan, but I will attempt to answer any question pertaining to the show. Please no scene/dialogue questions because they are very time-consuming and frustrating. However, I will be happy to clarify misunderstood dialogue due to whispering and such if I'm able to. I will attempt to answer any song question for the original airdates and syndication. NO DVD SONG QUESTIONS PLEASE. Please see my "Life Experience" in my profile for song question updates, it may pertain to your question.

Experience

I have every single episode on tape to find the answers. I watched and taped the show religiously. (All requests for copies of my videotapes/episodes will be declined.)
Update: The song used in "Crunch Time" during David's meth addiction is "Living In A Fantasy" by The Rainbow Band. Many thanks to the fellow 90210 Fan that contacted me with the info when they tracked it down. Also, the song used in "One Wedding and a Funeral" that Dylan & Toni dance to is "Nobody Knows Me" by Lyle Lovett. Same song is used during the scene where Dylan is crying while holding the wedding dress and then kitten. David & Donna's wedding song is "Spend My Life With You" by Eric Benet & Tamia. Same song was Steve & Janet's wedding song.
