Beverly Hills 90210/Songs on 90210

Question
I was wondering if you knew why they change the songs on the DVD? I was really looking forward to hearing "Losing My Religion" when Brenda and Dylan break up. I mean that is their song, right? I hope they don't change it in the episode where Brenda listens to it in her room after Dylan makes his decison.

Answer
Hi Kaelyn,

Their official excuse is that obtaining music clearance from the original artists was too expensive to do (since I supposed they would have to pay to have each song on the official release), and it was faster to just change the music and release the DVDs. I was relieved that the music is unchanged for episodes where the actual artist is on the show, like the Color Me Badd episode where Donna sees her mom having an affair. But I agree, all of us fans are very disappointed that they did not keep at least some of the original songs for other key episodes.

Hope this helps,
Carmen

Hi. 90210 is my absolute favorite show. I watch it at least twice a day, have my favorite episodes on tape, and can answer any question anyone has about the plot lines. Valerie, Brenda, and David are my favorite characters. I have met few people who love the show as much as I do. 90210 has been my salvation after a hard day, a way to kill boredom, and just pure pleasure. If you are curious about the character`s lives or little tidbits, feel free to ask me. I`ve been known to help people win trivia contests.
