Question
Please tell me where I can download "your so precious to me" on the internet.  I have searched everywhere and very much NEED this song on my ipod.  Thank you so much for your time.

Answer
Hi Julie,

Honestly, I never thought I'd be asked this.  But I'm smiling right along with you.

In terms of official release, all of David Silver's music was as fictional as his character and the 'career that Steve Sanders built' (or tried to).  Brian Austin Green's debut CD was "One Stop Carnival", a hip-hop record from 1996 (now very rare; try ebay).  It has a completely different tone from the songs he did in 1992, whether they were made exclusively for the show or not.

Here's a complete list with the episodes in which they appear:

1. PRECIOUS ("Shooting Star/American In Paris" (55) and "Duke's Bad Boy" (73))

2. BE MY LOVE ("Castles In the Sand" (56))

3. THEY WANT EFX (cover) ("Shooting Star/American In Paris" (55))

4. SWITCH IT UP ("Home and Away" (60), "Wild Horses" (64), "Duke's Bad Boy" (73) - though I would argue with the credits guide I'm looking at and say that 'Switch It Up' did not appear in this episode; 'Be My Love' did)

I've stayed away from file-sharing sites, so I don't know what's out there to download unofficially.  However, if you do find audio files of these songs, I imagine they'd just be from people recording David Silver's performances off old 90210 episodes.  Now that you have the episode references, you can do this more easily once Season 3 is released to DVD or you enter a BH forum and obtain them by trade.  It's all from S3 ...

In the meantime, you may find some solace on youtube, for there exists one video in particular which speaks directly to your cause.  I can't post the link, but it's easily searchable (david silver, 1992, etc).  You can then find a site which allows you to download online video if you wish.

'SWITCH IT UP' was David's signature song on the show and played for an extensive period in "Home and Away" (60), at the very end.  It's in "Duke's Bad Boy" (73) that 'PRECIOUS' is heavily mocked -- by the show itself, as Silver meets with some record execs, only to find that the one coaching him has no taste.

Thanks for the question!

All the best,

Mel

Can Dylan solve quadratic equations? What makes up a "mega-burger"? If an answer exists, I probably know it. Whether your question is general, begging the context of all 10 seasons, or completely inane, feel free to drop me a line either way. I will provide episode reference numbers for each response and plan to have some fun with this. Trivia quizzes often need correction, and publications will get their plotlines/characters/relationships mixed up too. I accept dialogue/scene requests, but please limit your inquiry to 1-2 per question. I only know music from the original broadcasts/reruns, not the DVDs. Been a fan since 1990 and didn't miss a beat.

Experience

Well, I began watching "Beverly Hills, 90210" at the tender age of 9 and a half, during its original run. By 11, I was a huge fan; 13, obsessed; 14, growing bitter. I don't like S6 - S10 as much as Seasons 1 - 5. But, technically, I still watch all of them in some way. Do this for 20 years and you'll remember the darndest things.

Education/Credentials
I'd like to say I've earned a "degree" on the life and times of the original eight, with specific concentration on Seasons 1 thru 5, any Jack McKay drama, Dylan/Kelly together or apart, and the guest stars of 1992-1994. Season 4, I think, was the best and strikingly different from any other. My only weakness might be later-season 'stand-in' characters like Matt and Noah, and the ever-changing ownerships of The AfterDark.
