QUESTION: Hi, i was just watching a video clip on youtube and wanted to know which episode it is? It looks like it's from season 5 cause Dylan is drinking a beer and i remember he goes back to drinking in season 5. The clip goes like this: Brandon comes over to Dylan's house and they start talking about his motorcycle. Dylan takes a sip of beer then asks Brandon if he wants one. Brandon says no thanks then Dylan says well then quit staring at mine! they talk about Kelly and the conversation turns to Brenda after Brandon tells him right after asking her dad for money she asked about Dylan. It seemed to me that Dylan was or is mad at Brenda? Your help is appreciated.

ANSWER: Hi Kaelyn,
Yes, it the second episode from Season 5 called "Under the Influence." I think Dylan is bitter because at the end of season 4, Brenda hooked up with Dylan and promised, "I won't be in London forever." When Brenda decided not to come back in his mind, Dylan was left with nothing.

QUESTION: Oh ok. Do you think that's part of the reason why he went back to drinking? Cause Brenda told him that and she never did return at the end of the summer?Some of the things he said in the video clip gave me that impression. The channel that plays 90210 reruns is starting season 5 in the fall so I can't wait to see this episode and of course all the others. I'm addicted to the reruns, i watch them religiously.

Answer
I think Dylan went back to drinking for a multitude of reasons: getting swindled out of all his money from Suzanne and Kevin, missing his little sister, and Kelly dumping him. I think Brenda not coming back was just the final straw, since in the beginning of the episode they show him drinking before he know Brenda was staying in London.
