Yes, Ray abused Donna physically and emotionally. In one episode where she visits him over spring break, he gets angry with her for helping David and shoves her up against a wall. While Ray and Donna are in Palm Springs at the end of Season 5, he throws her down the stairs. On numerous occasions, he is mean to her and puts her down. He blames her for things that are not her fault, like his failing music career. Eventually, he admits he was abusive and apologizes to her. Hope this answers your question.
