Question
Hi Brenda, 2 questions on this subject: In the 7 commandments God gave to Moses it says: Thou shalt not make to thyself any graven image of what is in the Heaven above nor the Earth below FULL STOP Thou... The Moslems accept this, why don't we Christians? Also in one of the 3 commandments we get from the Tora it says: Remember that thou keep holy the SABBATH day(Greek Savvato, Saturday). The Jews do, but the Christians don't. Who decided to change it to Sunday and does he have the right to change it?

Answer
1. "7th commandment;"Thou shalt not make to thyself any graven etc,The Moslems accept this, why don't we Christians?"

Excellent question, one I asked myself many years ago, here is the answer I found--

I quote; " Today there is an organization whose conduct is reminiscent of that of Judah in Isaiah’s day. Christendom (so called Christianity) uses the name of Jesus, but she pursues alliances with the nations and has filled her places of worship with idols. Her adherents even set up idolatrous images in their private homes. Christendom has sacrificed her young people in the wars of the nations. How offensive all of this must be to the true God, who commands Christians: “Flee from idolatry”! (1 Corinthians 10:14)"

so in short, so called Christianity is far removed from the Christianity Jesus established.

2. "keep holy the SABBATH"

This is different let me explain why--

"We find the first Scriptural mention of a sabbath in the book of Exodus. While the Israelites were in the desert, they received manna, a miraculous food, from God. Each sixth day of the week, they were to gather a double portion because the seventh day was to be “a sabbath to God,” during which all work was forbidden.—Exodus 16:4, 5, 22-25.

Moreover, Israelites were given the Sabbath to remind them that they had been slaves in the land of Egypt. This reminder would have been of little significance if they had previously respected such a law. Therefore, the regulations governing the Sabbath were given to Israel ALONE.—Deuteronomy 5:2, 3, 12-15."

True Christians today do not keep the Sabbath because; it was a law given only to the Israelites, it started and ended with them.I appreciate you may not agree but scriptural evidence tells us--

"The Law was not given to all humankind. God made a covenant, or an agreement, with the descendants of Jacob, who became the nation of Israel. God gave his laws to this nation only. The Bible makes this clear at Deuteronomy 5:1-3 and Psalm 147:19, 20".

3. "Who decided to change it to Sunday and does he have the right to change it?"

I quote--"Even though Sunday was the day on which Jesus was resurrected, for early Christians it was a workday like any other. But a decision by a Laodicean church council (mid-to-late fourth century C.E.) reveals that with the passing of time, the Jewish Sabbath on Saturday was replaced by a “Christian” sabbath on Sunday. This canon “forbade Christians to Judaize and to be idle on the day of the [Jewish] Sabbath, and the Lord’s day [the day of the week on which he was resurrected] was to be honored in a Christian way.” From then on Christendom’s adherents had to work on Saturdays and refrain from work on Sundays. Later, they were required to attend Mass on Sunday.

So it was the Catholic church basically that changed it,as to are they allowed? well there are many, many things that the churches practice today that they are; "not allowed" according to God, but they do it anyway, their judgement has been decided by God, their destruction is imminent according to the bible.

Hence why God urges righthearted ones like yourself to; "Get out of her my people if you do not want to share in her sins, because they have massed clear up to heaven" (Rev. 18;4)

Your job now is to find the "Narrow road that leads to life" as the churches are on the "Broad road that leads to destruction" (Matthew 7;13,14)

If you would like help in finding this "Narrow road" I am happy to help.

all the best
