Bible Studies/Ard

Question
Who, What, or Where was Ard. I know he was the tenth son of Benjamin, but what does the name mean and what all did he do?  Was he an important figure in the Bible?

Answer
A descendant of Benjamin, Ard was in Egypt [Gen 46:27] and was the ancestor of the Ardites [Num 26:40].
Interestingly, the name in Hebrew is related to "humpbacked."
The Ardites do not seem to have played any important role in the development of the Promised Land.  Although they must have had some noteriety to have been remembered and named.
Hope these thought are helpful.
Best wishes, Lillian.
