Question
I am looking to find several verses in the bible that prove that we inherited Christ's righteousness when he was resurrected.....would you happen to know a few. Thanks. PETE

Answer
Hi PETE,

Here are a few verses that might be what you're looking for:

"This is the name by which he will be called: The LORD Our Righteousness." (Jer.23:6)

"Christ Jesus is our righteousness" (1 Cor.1:30)

Gal. 3:27 says that whoever is baptized in Christ "puts on Christ". Putting on Christ is not just symbolic. Christ actually dwells within our soul, a real inheritances.

But bear in mind that while all the work necessary for salvation was accomplished by Him, the only one who could do it, yet nevertheless that righteousness profits us little to naught if we do not ourselves "fill up what is lacking in the sufferings of Christ" (Col 1:24) through our actions, and work out our salvation "with fear and trembling" (Phil. 2:12) too.

Hopefully that helps!
