Question
I have seen references throughout the book of Kings and I was wondering where I could get more information or access to these books.

Answer
Dear Mandy,

They are available in your Bible.  It was the habit of historian scribes to insure there were “back-up” and confirmatory records kept of the lives and deeds of the kings. In these cases, the Lord Himself inspired the record keeping. In other cases, references are made to secular records (“books”) kept by kings, priests and historians but which were not considered to be sacred, and were only mentioned and used as a supplemental record of those things recorded in the sacred texts. These books have not been preserved through the generations as were those considered to be divinely inspired.

These are references to the books we have preserved in sacred Scripture as 1 and 2 Chronicles:
1Kings 14:19, 29; 15:7, 23, 31; 16:5, 14, 20, 27; 22:39, 45; 2Kings 1:18; 8:23; 10:34; 12:19;  13:8, 12; 14:15, 18, 28; 15:6, 11, 15, 21, 26, 31, 36; 16:19;  20:20 ; 21:17, 25; 23:28;  24:5; Nehemiah 12:23.
These are references to the books we have preserved in sacred Scripture as 1 and 2 Kings:
1Chronicles 9:1; 2Chronicles 16:11; 20:34; 24:27; 25:26; 27:7; 28:26; 32:32;  33:18; 35:27; 36:8.

I hope this helps.

Yours for Truth,
