How can the advice found at Philippians 2: 3,4 help us...?

It is the definition on true Christianity. Deny your desires and achieve someone else's desires. Christ came to earth to die "not my (Jesus)will be done but yours (GOD)... It is a term I like to call Armor bearer mentality. I Samuel 14:7 Judges 9:54. Both of these their life was on the line. Try climbing uphill - rock climbing still- get to the top and yell "hey dudes we are here to kill you." See if you survive the rest of the climb. Or how about killing the president do you think you would survive. The message is that they were willing to do whatever it took to make their leader look great.  As Christians today we ought to do the same. Instead of getting others to help us do what we want we need to help others do what they want then others will help with what you want. Another way of putting it would be like the movie "paying it forward."  I hope this helps if you need more, ask a follow-up question.
